An expert in your field

One of the experts in public administration that I admire and consider to be an excellent professional corresponds to Verónica Figueroa Huencho, a Chilean national, who is a Mapuche academic, associate professor at the Institute of Public Affairs and public administrator at the University of Chile.

Among her most important facts is that she develops as a university senator representing the Interdisciplinary Institutes of the University of Chile for the period 2018-2022. In the field of management, she has been Coordinator of the United Nations Global Compact (Barcelona headquarters) (2004-2006), Director of the School of Government and Public Management of the University of Chile (2013-2015), and Presidential Counselor of the CONADI (2010).

Verónica has vast experience in the academic area, in gender issues and, above all, in the search for the incorporation into the public spheres of indigenous people in Chile and their access to the best representation.

His fundamental field of study elaborates the process of formulation and implementation of indigenous public policies in contexts of diversity, where he has publications in ISI-indexed magazines, in addition to books and book chapters in national and international publishers.

This expert, I like it since I consider that she has experience and a close relationship with sectors that have been separated from society and in this way they have not been able to integrate or consider in terms of public policies, and if it has been done, they have been considered In these he has been very limited and has not had significance in his life. In addition, as a teacher she has extensive research and book participation, among others, which is why I find her to be a very complete expert in all her skills. It is worth mentioning that she was my teacher in the first semester of my first year as a student, so her classes and her love for this career motivated me a lot.

Free Post 2: My favorite movie

Today I will talk about my favorite movie. This is "Coraline y la puerta secreta", it is an American animated film that was based on a novel by Neil Gaiman Coraline. The truth is that I define the film as very rare and I think that is what strikes me the most, because it makes you think more and at the same time generates curiosity and mystery when you want to discover what really happens or if what I really believe is like that.

I remember that the first time I saw it, it was when I was approximately 10 years old and from that moment until now, I have seen it too many times (and that makes me watch a movie twice and less watch it more than twice). I have even seen the movie with my mom and she also finds it very good and above all very mysterious and at the same time fictional.

Coraline is about a girl with a very strong and clear character when speaking, where she has to move to another house with her parents, this house was shared and called "The Pink Palace". It all comes down to the fact that Coraline's parents are always working or busy in other things, therefore, they always put aside their daughter and Coraline, she always wants to venture out, go out (with a lot of energy to know various things). In the course of the film, he realizes that there is a secret door, which finally decides to enter and discovers that there are other parents in "another world" (very opposite), but with button eyes and great surprises ... I will not tell you more for you to see and realize how rare it becomes and the meaning it can have.

The character that I loved the most was the cat, since he was the one that most curious me in the entire period of the film and that at the end of it, had a lot to do with everything. In addition, that he could be in these two worlds so opposite and that he could accompany the protagonist and at the same time defend her from the bad characters. In addition to everything mentioned and the spoiler (hahaha), there are parts that made me laugh a lot for the personality of some characters that appear.

I really recommend the film, since it generates mystery, laughter, curiosity and a lot of intrigue at every moment that the protagonist is living and above all, how the film begins with a very peculiar doll.

A photograph you like

This photograph is one of my favorites and one of the ones that has the most meaning for me ... more than for the photo, it is for the person with whom I appear. I chose a color photograph.

The girl I appear with is the niece of a former partner, who I have known since she was born (year 2014) and formed a very strong bond despite the fact that I am no longer with him. Her name is Renata and she is about to turn 6 years old, she is tall for her age and she is very skinny, with her very long colored hair and curlers (her hair is beautiful), in the image she has a diver from his school, navy blue with turquoise and what most attracts attention, is that he has large white ribbons on his head and I am wearing a pink shirt with a description that I do not remember but that is white , black jeans round hoops with a black flower, plus I'm with a bag containing toys. We are both at the entrance to Renata's house, waiting for her mother (Paula) so we can go to school soon.

This photo isn't so old, but it is my favorite because it excites me to see that it is already so large compared to how I knew it, it is this year in the month of March, it was her first day in the Kindergarten course. I took the photo because she was so excited to know that I, along with her mother, were going to leave her and she wanted us to take many photos of her and when I took this photo she loved it.

I remember that when I took the photo, we were in a hurry because I had to take many things to school and Renata was very nervous because at first she is shy with people she doesn't know and hardly speaks. And also, that it is very slow to eat and took too long (haha), the truth is that it was a day with many things to do, but I was very excited to see it bigger and that I could continue to be part of her life, to despite everything.

I have always felt and believed that Renata is one of the people I love the most, and that I would give anything to make her well ... sometimes we find a family, in people that fate or life presents us and I am very happy to have her got to know her and her mom. They are very important people to me and I hope to continue having them always and to continue in each stage of Renata, whether at school or in other areas.

Free topic

Four years ago, tolo came into my life (tolo is my dog) and since he arrived he changed my life completely. It was a gift that my dad gave me and I really didn't expect it because he doesn't like animals and I remember that when my dad brought it he was so small that he reached in his hand and what I liked the most were his shiny eyes and shaped like an olive (hahaha). From that day on I never thought that my parents and I were going to love him so much, even now they love him more than all of me (sad), they consent to absolutely everything. Our love for tolo is so much that we treat him the same as a son, and tolo is practically a person.

Over time we began to realize that our pet (although he is one of the family) loves to eat lemon, it is strange that he likes it, but the truth is that he loves it and we always give it and if we do not give it, he is who asks us. He uses lemons first to play and then he ends up eating them, he also loves eating fruit, especially apples, when we eat fruit we always have to give it to him too.

I think he brought us together as a family and is our center of attention almost all the time, because he is just like a baby. In addition, he is too intelligent since everything he wants, he asks for with his gestures and as we already know him, we know what he wants, for example, when he wants to make his needs (we live in an apartment) he begins to look at us and lick us to that we lower it, to ask for lemon it starts to bark or cry near where they are. Along with this, my parents say that he has the same way of being and makes me laugh because it is true, he does not like us to be so fond of him because he is bored and leaves, sometimes he is indifferent, he only uses us to play </ 3. I think that without him I don't know what I would do because all my time is with him, and whenever I am sad or something happens to me, he is the one who is with me (it is as if he knew) and he stays sleeping with me or he stares at me for a long time, both that disturbs me.

Without a doubt it is the best unexpected gift that someone has been able to give me and that has been the happiest thing in my life.

My favorite piece of technology

Throughout our lives technology has become part of us, both personally and in general aspects, an example of this has been evident in times of pandemic health. In addition to the aforementioned, it has also been evidenced in terms of the communication that today we must have through a cell phone or a computer, in order to see our family, friends, etc. Therefore, it is something that really influences our daily life, whether it is to entertain us, inform us, communicate, and many other things.
In my opinion, the most influenced in my life has been the cell phone, a cell phone is an electronic wireless device that allows access to the cellular or mobile phone network, when I was very young I started using it, because I had bigger cousins that had Nokia or Blackberry cell phones, and from there I had contact with cell phones. Although more than anything I used it to play, but it was from there that I later learned and it became normal for everyone to have a cell phone, which today is something basic in a society, and throughout the world.
The cell phone has become the object with which I can communicate with my friends, see each other, laugh, it generates a closeness between the people we love. And along with that, being able to see memes, videos, for example, if I have to do a job many times I spend on my cell phone looking for information or contacting my teachers for different jobs or classmates, it is important to mention that it is a more comfortable to use due to its size and that you can take it to any place and it does not bother. Therefore, the cell phone became a technological device with which I do most things and that I spent too much time (doing whatever) but occupying it, although sometimes it does not become so favorable because we become dependent on being connected to networks. social, to be calling or watching series, etc. I think what I like the most is that it relaxes me in some way, because I get to play a lot and talk a lot with my friends, to send memes or just talk about our lives and what happens to us, for these reasons I think that My life if I would change without the cell phone, it is not that I am going to die but it would be strange not to be able to be connected to my cell phone, since it takes up a lot of time on a daily basis.

Why did you choose this career program?

Most of my life I wanted to study law, I felt that it really caught my attention, everything that had to do with laws, justice, and just imagining the future in that career made me feel that it was what I should study. Also, that I have a cousin who is a lawyer and I felt a lot of admiration for him and for everything that he had already achieved at the time, and it motivated me even more to want to be a lawyer too. Although when I was younger I wanted to be a veterinarian, because I liked animals a lot (still) and I was always close to them, but then I started to like the law more, because I thought it was very sensitive and would suffer a lot if I had to take care of animals in in poor condition or that they could die.

All my secondary education I proposed that the PSU had to go well to be able to stay at the University of Chile in the law degree, it was the objective that I set myself, even in the fourth half I went to a pre-university and it was a quite stressful year but that it helped me a lot. When I received the result from my PSU, I felt disappointed because I had demanded too much of myself and thought that I had done better, although it didn’t go wrong, but it was due to the pressure of so long and at the same time that my parents were very excited about what I wanted to do, so it was a double pressure. At the time of applying, it was when everything changed (I don’t regret it) it gave me almost an existential crisis of not knowing what to do, and talking to a cousin he told me about the career of public administration and I was enlightened (haha), because when I was in High school was always my second option in case I changed my mind, and that's where I decided. I was so blinded by studying law that I had forgotten public administration.

Despite my great confusion, I feel that it is the best decision I could have made, because I have met very nice people at the EGGP, not only colleagues but also teachers who have made me think about the change we can make when we are already professionals. , that something not because it is in such a way should remain so, we can generate changes in the public sector either, in terms of ethics, integrity, etc. In my opinion, teachers are the ones who can be the agent of change the most, in terms of encouraging us and that we are all part of the solution. Many years ago, I didn’t feel so good, at university I was able to develop more in many areas.

Who am I?

Hello everyone!

My name is Catalina Contreras Rodríguez, I was born on January 29, 2001, in the city of Santiago. All my life I have lived in the same commune (Quinta normal) and more than 1 year ago I moved to live in an apartment, at first I lived alone and a couple of months ago my parents and my tolo dog had to come and live next to me, before we all lived in my maternal grandmother's house, I actually lived most of my life in that house.

Almost all my childhood I lived with the family on my mother's side, and I always played with my cousins (men), we were very close, but in spite of that, I was always a very shy and embarrassed child with few friends. As I grew up I was able to have more personality and changed for the better, although I have always kept being a little shy and more "conservative" about some things.

Most of my childhood was good, normal, but in basic education exactly in eighth grade, I had a very bad time because a group of classmates bothered me a lot and because of that I had to change schools, it was difficult to adapt to a new school, with new people, just in third grade I made real friends and left high school with them, I was always very studious and I was passionate about reading a lot, whatever I read, and there was a time when I played a lot of basketball.

After that, I was very excited to enter university, first I wanted to study law at the University of Chile but I ended up studying public administration which also attracted a lot of attention and I felt that I could like it very much and I can say that I now feel that it is my vocation and that it was good to have chosen this career. When I arrived at the little school, I was too happy and nervous at the same time, but I met very nice people and it has gone well (with a lot of effort) but I feel that it is what I like most, besides that I have a great time with my friends, especially at parties (haha).

I think that entering the university has been the nicest thing that has happened to me, because I have also known more, society, the state, politics, etc. In my previous school we were never made part of what was happening, of the inequality, protests, etc. But in general I am happy to study this career.
